Junior SCORES introduces the game of soccer to 1st and 2nd grade students while helping them begin to discover poetry, creative expression and story telling. Throughout the program, students will learn basic soccer skills in an engaging environment that promotes physical activity, socialization, and teamwork.
Junior SCORES is co-ed and can accommodate up to 20 participants. Twice-weekly sessions are split into 60 minutes of soccer and 60 minutes of reading and writing.
While students will be physically active, the additional academic support will build literacy skills, bolstering their self-confidence in writing and self-expression. SCORES is aiming to get youth active at an early age while building connections with caring adults. Linking sports and academics will motivate youth to be engaged students throughout the school day.
